Climb the staircase with the help of the rope banister and find a large family bathroom with his and hers sinks, followed by another sitting room with spectacular, elevated views over the harbour, just what you need after a tiresome day exploring the local sights. Enjoy a hot soak in the bathtub and fully indulge yourself with a glass of your favourite tipple afterwards as you admire the evening vistas over the waterfront. The first of the bedrooms is also on this floor, while the second level plays host to the master room boasting a king-size with en-suite shower, whilst the third and final floor offers two smaller double rooms under the eaves. If you manage to tear yourselves away from the incredible views and watching harbour life, then you are ideally located for exploring all the delights of this historic town. Weymouth Beach is just a short row boat ferry ride across the harbour and there are shops, bars, and restaurants all within paces of the front door. Don't forget to try the local fish and chips, enjoy a hike through RSPB Radipole Lake, a haven for birdwatching, and visit the Nothe Fort and Gardens to brush up on your history. The wider region includes trips to Dorchester and fabulous walks and outdoor adventure in the Dorset AONB, a real treat for you and your loved ones in a wonderful part of the country. Stanley House Reviews

Michal
A beautiful historic home, clearly decorated with love, and in an unbeatable location right on Weymouth harbour. We were a threegenerations group and everyone found lots to keep them busy, from long walks to crabbing by the front door, to trying the foodie delights nearby. We recommend Pascals Brasserie and Bennetts Fish and Chips, in particular. It was lovely coming home to the harbour views from the first floor sitting room. Theres always something going on to watch and we saw some lovely sunsets and lively bird life on the water. The house is brilliantly equipped and extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed the outdoor spaces, too. Really pleased to read that there may be a downstairs toilet in the making at some point. We hope to come back and see how this stylish but comfy house progresses and changes over the years.

Great house with panoramic views of the harbour. We really enjoyed our stay. We were very sad to leave. Mr & Mrs D Bennett.

Wow! Stanley House is absolutely amazing. The location and view is really outstanding. We sat watching harbourlife and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Its a lovely flat walk along the harbour and over the bridge into the main town, only takes 510 minutes. The accommodation was 5 star. Really comfortable, clean, plenty of room and very homely. The welcome hamper was great too! We would love to return one day. This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location

A beautifully spacious home right on the harbourtruly idyllic. The location couldnt be better just a short stroll to charming local shops, welcoming pubs, a stunning beach, and scenic harbour walks. We absolutely loved our stay. The house itself is incredibly comfortable, and the firstfloor sitting room was a highlightperfect for relaxing and watching the boats drift by and the world go on. What more could you ask for?

We all enjoyed our stay at Stanley House. The location was fantastic, parking was close to the property and secure. The house was lovely with lots of character and had a lovely feel to it. The message from the owner on arrival and the hamper were really lovely touches. We enjoyed using the crabbing equipment, sitting out on the roof terrace and of course watching the world go by from the beautiful bay window. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely be booking another stay.
Great location, comfortable and clean. There are a few elements that need attention that were recognised by the friendly owner, Nancy, in her welcome message . I don't recall seeing instructions on parking but the 2 spaces are nearby round the back and we got parked ok. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our break.

Lovely house, lovely surroundings, lovely town. House has everything you need for a great holiday, only thing lacking is a downstairs toilet, but thats it! Overall a great week away.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week at Stanley House, 2 adults in 20s 2 in 50s and parents 78 & 84! The 2 chairs in the bay window were enjoyed everyday by my parents watching the boats and world go by. The location was perfect a lovely stroll along the harbour to the bridge then into town. Londis shop by By the quay cafe had everything we wanted. We had Sunday lunch across the harbour at Ship Inn and breakfast the day we came home at quayside bar & grill both recommended, chip shops bennets which is further up from the property or across the bridge at Marlboro are both highly recommended. Just bear in mind the property has recently been bought by the lovely and helpful Nancy and is slowly doing the property up, this did not affect our stay in any way. If we were asked for anything we would change then I would say the sofas as they are def on the old side and would have made a big difference in the upstairs living room Crabbing is a must which you can do outside your front door, the little rowing boat across the quay was good fun and would highly recommend the boat trip to Durdle Door. We really hope to return to Stanley House again as we couldnt find another property in the area that gave what it has to offer and look forward to seeing the changes that Nancy has planned
Our group of 6 adults and 2 dogs all enjoyed our stay at Stanley House. It is located in an idyllic waterside location with fantastic views of the approach to Weymouth Harbour. Pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops and a fabulous sandy beach are all a short walk away. I believe the owner has only recently purchased the house and is making many improvements with time. Would definitely recommend this property.
Stanley House is a beautiful property in a perfect location. We stayed here over the Easter period as a family of 6, four teenagers and two adults, plus two dogs. There is nothing I can say to fault this property. It is deceptively large inside, with huge rooms and comfortable furniture. The beds are amongst the most comfortable I have slept in. The location really is perfect, with beautiful walks and a vast array of good restaurants literally either way you turn when leaving the property. Theres something to suit everyone nearby, beautiful coastal walks which were perfect for the dogs, plus the beach with lots of activities to keep the teenagers happy. Great pubs, the Red Lion just minutes away in Hope Square was our favourite and serves very good food. As well as all this on the doorstep, its a fantastic base to explore the beautiful surrounding areas. We visited Portland Bill, Bowleaze Cove, Chesil Beach and Monkey World but there are so many other places nearby to explore. There is a good selection of very nice places along the harbour for brunch which was perfect after a long morning walk with the dogs. Overall, I would rate this property and the location as 10 out of 10. I believe the owner has plans to tastefully modernise over time and this will make it even more outstanding but to us it really was perfect just as it was. We would definitely return.
Really enjoyed our stay at Stanley House. The views are fantastic, the beds are really comfortable. The enclosed courtyard very useful and the outside upstairs decking area a real suntrap . We can see updates and some refurbishment has taken place and that you are planning more. I think that 8 guests would be a bit tight with the top floor attic rooms being a bit smaller and head height low. The two lounge areas are lovely, maybe the sofas upstairs could do with some tlc. The location is great and would recommend.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is well located and comfortably furnished. This is why I rated it 4 star. I felt there were a few areas that could be improved a mirror in the main bedroom a shavertoothbrush socket in the ensuite remove all the paint and building materials from the cupboards
