Rupert Cottage Reviews

Rupert Cottage is set within a private gated mews barely a 5 minute stroll to the historic Quayside, the whole area is full of interesting and quirky buildings, many part of the brewing heritage of days gone by, so the area is full of character and very interesting to explore. The private parking and ease of access in and out of the mews is a massive asset to this property, making for relaxed and hassle free days out. The Cottage is very comfortable and we appreciated the cleanliness of the accommodation, as all areas of the house were spotless. The bathrooms are modern and fresh. It was most relaxing to wash a cup or a glass at the kitchen window and hear some lovely birdsong outside. A feeling we had at the time and are pleased we can reflect here. Thanks for checking with us that things were going well, this was a nice touch and much appreciated. Thanks again to the owner, and the letting agents, we had a great week, and we would definitely consider returning to Rupert Cottage x
Elizabeth
Found the cottage warm and cosy, walking distance to all amenities.
Good directions and explanation on getting keys. Well presented on arrival. Comfortable property in ideal location. 5 minutes walk to harbour and newton's cove. Secure parking is a bonus. Would recommend.
Christine
We've stayed in this cottage a few times and it's our priority cottage for booking. We feel like it's our second home and just love it. Facilities are very good although we don't tend to use them. It's an added bonus to have secure parking as we walk everywhere during the week.
Richard
Excellent location, adjacent to Weymouth Old Harbour and walking distance to shops M &S food hall. Good pubs. Enjoyed our stay with property well equipped
Steven
Whilst we love the location, parking, and the house generally. Our stay was sadly really affected by multiple building works going on around the house. The house next door is being renovated which started around 8am each day with drilling and sawing, then there are 2 building sites on two sides of the property the old brewers quay and the other I think was a car park which also had banging drilling and shouting going on from even earlier. The property would really benefit from double glazing. Also taxi drivers sit on the benches across the road shouting from 6am when cruise ships are arriving to pick up passengers which also woke us up multiple times.
Alison
Lovely cottage, had everything we we need and great location, would definitely return.
What a lovely cottage. Close to the harbour and shops with safe parking, a perfect position. The cottage is comfortably furnished with everything anyone would need for a perfect holiday, and spotless throughout, with a few welcoming homely touches, like tea, coffee and biscuits. Whenever we return to Weymouth we will certainly check if Rupert cottage is free.
A few things need updating but overall very good
This property is in a great location, walking distance into the town. Great places to eat and a fabulous Vegetarian cafe. Parking in a secure place is also an added bonus. If I could recommend that the owners purchase some new towels the ones we had were past their best. We would stay again.
Rupert Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. It was perfectly situated close to the Harbour for all the cafes ,bars and restaurants. It was exceptionally clean and all the beds were comfortable. Having the stereo system was lovely and the living space and L shaped sofa made evenings in like a home from home. We enjoyed and have already booked again for next year! We highly recommend this little gem .
It's the second time we've stayed st rupert cottage. Accommodation as listed perfectly comfortable. Ideal location, in walking distance to the town and beach. Lots in the local area for walks and days out for adults and children. Bonus is secure parking.
Bernice
We had a super time based at Rupert Cottage. It is so conveniently situated for walking everywhere. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of crockery and cutlery so could use dishwasher without running out of equipment. Downstairs WC as well as 2 bathrooms upstairs great little cottage and would highly recommend. Weymouth is a beautiful town and many good places to visit within reasonable distance. Great bus services too.
Andrea
We had an amazing stay in Rupert Cottage, so close to the harbour, so east to walk everywhere and know that your car is safe. Cottage had everything you could need to enjoy our holiday. Easy to locate. Beautiful converted stable.
Fantastic property well maintained and superb location will definitely be back
Lesley
Lovely stay at Rupert Cottage, clean and comfortable. Excellent location and having secure parking was a bonus.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well placed cottage. The property was lovely and clean on arrival, and was easy to access following the provided instructions. The ample facilities and generous living space made for a relaxing retreat after busy days out, in and around Weymouth.
Dianne
Beautiful, well equipped and comfortable cottage. Lovely location, and felt very safe.
We love this location and the cottage itself was very comfortable. However, staying in bed past 5am in the main bedroom was difficult due to the sky light not having a blind to pull down and so adding this would be a major improvement. Our overall stay was enjoyable and we would return in the future.
Holiday Cottage was lovely and very quiet surroundings considering we were only 5 minutes walk to the harbour, restaurants and pubs. Definitely recommended Sykes to our friends and already looking for next year. Unfortunately we forgot to write in the visitors book, but really enjoyed our week.
This is the fourth holiday cottage we've had in Weymouth over the last 3 years and absolutely the best! Extremely well equipped, two bathrooms that really worked, exceptionally clean and very tidy. The only minor issue was the sitting room sofa which transpired to be a set of 2seater sofa bed plus a third seat and a chaise longue the sofa bed bit was not altogether comfortable as a sofa.
Phillip
We loved staying at Rupert. It is such a home from home and so cosy. It is in a quiet location and in the part of Weymouth we like to be in. We had such a wonderful stay and parking which is such a bonus in Weymouth now.
Lovely cottage, Ideal location, everything on the doorstep.
Lovely property. Great to have private safe parking. It is situated very close to the coastal path and it was lovely to be so close to the harbour, Weymouth and Newtons Cove. The only downside to being so close to the harbour was the noise from the people returning back home at night from the pub. The neighbours were also a little noisy. The small bedroom backed on to their bedroom and the TV in their room was quite loud at night. We also felt a bit like we were in a goldfish bowl because the people opposite were outside smoking quite a bit.
Just a little niggle no blind in the main bedroom for the skylight. Everything else was excellent.
Lovely location right by the Harbour with a selection of bars and restaurants close at hand. Having secure onsite parking is a real bonus, you can literally lock up and walk everywhere, you will find stops for the Land train and boat trips close by on the quay. The cottage is ideal for a family of four, clean with plenty of bed linen and towels. A great fully equipped kitchen with a wide range of crockery and utensils, especially useful to have a dishwasher and washer dryer. Very informative property guide and an array of leaflets for local attractions. Easy process for us to check in and out.
Mervyn
Overall very pleased with property. Only two criticisms, firstly was that having recently fitted new carpets the doors were difficult to open as the bottoms had not been eased. Also there are no blinds fitted in the velux windows and waking us very early in the morning.
Yvonne
We had to wait a whole year to complete our plans for our visit but it was well worth the wait, the property was excellent as all our Sykes rentals have been over the years The area was both interesting and quite quiet, plenty to do and good restaurants close by. Would definitely recommend.
Patricia
Had a very lovely stay, cottage well furnished and nicely decorated and comfortable. Just a small point to mention, in main bedroom it would be good to have a blind on roof velux window as we were woken very early by the light coming in. Just a small point really.
Nice cottage, very close to harbour shops and Resturants.
Allison
Very well equipped cottage with everything we needed, even a hairdryer which was a surprise! Great to have secure parking and a very easy walk to the harbour, shops and beach. Welcome Pack had 'tablets' which we assumed were for the washing machine, although no tablets for the dishwasher? but other than that everything was lovely. We would go back.
Location of Rupert is excellent with just a short walk to both the old quay and coastal path. The cottage is probably one of the cleanest selfcatering properties we have visited, with a very good compact layout. My only suggestion would be to have the windows cleaned outside. We particularly liked the secure undercover parking for our motorcycle. We booked this 3 night stay at very short notice and I was very impressed with Charlie, a very polite member of staff at the Sykes office, who dealt with the arrangements so efficiently and promptly and made the whole process very easy.
Madeline
The cottage is comfortable with a lot of small, thoughtful extras. The bed was of a good size and comfortable. The WiFi worked perfectly and the kitchen was well equipped. The off road parking was an extra bonus. The cottage was near the town and Newtons cove, we didnt need to use the car during our stay.
Sylvia
Seven years ago we stayed in the same cottage and liked it so this year we decided to go again. Lovely cottage, lovely position, so safe.Three loos although there were only the 2 of us so often we need our one loo at the same time.Ridiculous. I would also like to add that Oct 5th was our 56th Wedding Anniversary. The only down side was the weather unfortunately, that is the reason we came home a day early.
Lovely gated property, which are converted shire horse stables done to a very high standard with under cover parking for one car , we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this cottage.
Extremely well presented and well equipped cottage, perfectly placed to be able to walk to the harbour and beach and the many shops and restaurants nearby. My only negative would be how light the bedrooms were! A skylight with no blind in the main bedroom and no blind and light curtains in the other bedroom meant a very early wake up call for us in the light summer mornings. If this could be remedied I would describe this cottage as perfect.
William
Accommodation was excellent , location perfect , quiet and just around the corner from the harbour with everything you need . Weymouth is a lovely place to have a holiday .
Reginald
We have holidayed at Rupert cottage for the past five years including time under the previous owner and the high standard of accommodation and cleanliness has been maintained. The cottage and it's position near the old harbour and Nothe Gardens make it a very suitable holiday location.
