Low Tide Reviews

Great location, plenty of space and washrooms. Is next to a club that has loud music until 4 am. Didnt bother us, though after the club closed, people hang around and can a bit loud. So if you want peace and quiet it's probably not the best place. We had a great time.

Amazing property and amazing location, Id just recommend a very good clean of ... Amazing property and amazing location, Id just recommend a very good clean of the house and a freshen up to make it perfect
Lovely property and nicely decorated but hugely let down by the noise! Every night until past 3am the night cocktail bar would play very loud music until past 3am! It felt like the music was inside the house!! If you were at the back of the house it was ok but the front rooms were terrible we didnt sleep for 3 nights which is a shame as we were there as our Children were competing in the British Surf Life Saving Championships. The listing did state that its on the busy sea front but you need to be more clear that its actually next door to the loudest place on the front. Its a huge shame as we would have been a return customer for next years championship.

The location is perfect daytime. ..At night you cannot sleep till 2 or 3am due to noise from next door cafe , along with rowdy , drunk youngsters . Thursday night there was a car parked outside with loud music going on till 4am, Friday night till 3am. Also two days there was a repair van right outside the house , blocking our view. Maybe the owners can look into this , with the council or police. Also I rang to report the loo holders were not fixed & couple of the dining chairs need to be fixed or repaired .The contact number I rang, promised to call back as they were too busy , still waiting call back. The front of the house ,outside ,needs tidying up,especially the steps and the wild growth outside the kitchendinner window. Fortunately, the weather was good, but too hot inside, either need AC or fans to keep cool. The room in the attic was so hot, the toilet flush was like a hot radiator, also the sink there had a trickle of water. Most important I feel is being able contact or someone calling us to make sure everything is OK.

Great place to stay. Location is perfect. Rated 4 stars because we had a few issues and could not get through to anyone! Not ideal if it was a real Emergency! We still have not had any response. Not the best service from Sykes Cottages. There were no tea towels. The banister was very dirty. I thought it could do with a little seating area outside the front as theres lots of room. Smokers were sat on the steps. Otherwise its a beautiful house in an amazing location. We were not disappointed.
Madeline
The house was amazing and so much space. I do feel it could do with a proper clean but understand this is not what is done. Also the bar next door is open until 4am apart from Sunday and had we known it was that late we would have not stayed there. Having said that the house and where it was, was outstanding
Joanne
The house is in a great location right on the sea front and close to shops, restaurants and cafes. It was clean and comfortable with good quality beds, bedding and towels. We especially loved the large open plan kitchen dining area and the sitting room. As a large family group this was perfect for us. The few niggles we had were firstly on the practical domestic front. We preferred to cook most evenings and discovered the cooker seal had come off so we fixed this. We also found that some toilet roll holders had come off, which we couldnt fix. Finally, as mentioned in details about the house, the Nook bar next door has live music from Tuesday to Saturday. We were aware of this when booking though discovered that when it is a live guitaristband that as this is in the front bar right next to the front of the house it is as loud as though you are actually sitting in the bar because there is no noise reduction. Maybe the owner if they havent already could speak to the Nook about moving this to the back of the bar or adding in some kind of noise reduction. Also, people smoking outside can tend to sit on the front door step and leave cigarette butts and bottles of beer which isnt so nice when leaving the house in the morning! Coming from London where we live opposite a pub we were expecting and prepared for the noise but found these aspects unfortunate as the house is so lovely.
Nicola
The house was lovely and in a lovely location in terms of the beach, nice restaurants, etc. The property could benefit from some general redecoration in the circulation areas, hallways, stairs, etc as these were quite scuffed, etc. But the house had everything we needed and more! The property description does say that there are bars on the doorstep and that loud music until the early hours would happen... BUT.... early hours meant 4am at the weekends and 1am every night of the week. After the music turns off, the drinking and loud conversation go on for another hour at least!! Then the clean up and maintenance starts at 7am!! Jet washing outside, etc. I think that maybe the property is listed because it is single pane windows so you can hear everything!! On our 1st night the noise stopped around 5pm but we were then woken at 7am with the clean up and then at 10am the door was banging a cleaner was there to do the 'change over' as he has been sent the wrong information! Not ideal after the rubbish nights sleep. Having said all that, the house was beautiful and I would return but not with children.
Had a fantastic holiday, will book again
Samantha
The property is gorgeous. There was a few Matinace issues I contacted Sykes and they resolved what they could straight away but there was issues they couldnt resolve. The cleanliness wasnt the best either as we found a dirty broken plate in one of the draws there was wrappers under one of the beds.the sheets was stained in one of the rooms.the carpet was stained in the main bedroom some of the windowsill was covered in dust.there was empty bottles in one of the kitchen cupboards.as for the house it self it is in a prime location the owners have put the money in to the property as it is high end furniture but I it is right next to a cocktail club that is playing very loud music until 4.00am on Friday and sat and 1.00am the rest of the days.it was a family holiday so if I was aware of that I wouldnt of booked this property it dose say how close it was to the bars but not that you are right next to a night club.
We have just had the most amazing week at Low Tide. We were delighted with the position of the house, its proximity to the beach and facilities and the overall comfort inside. The only negative was the noise from the neighbouring bar, which on 3 nights of the week did go on until 4am. This was referred to in the property description so we were aware, and not all our party were troubled by it but it would heavily influence our decision to return. I would highly recommend the property from every other aspect .
Lauren
The house is incredible. Its been renovated to a really high standard and we had the most wonderful stay. Had everything we needed. If they could replace the front bay window with triple glazing to drown out the noise from the bar next door it would be perfect. Hasnt stopped us from booking again though.
Nicola
In general we were thrilled with the quality of the house, the fittings were excellent the location, being so near to the beach amazing for a family holiday. . However, as per my previous email, there were one or two things missing in the house for example insufficient cutlery and insufficient glasses. The one huge difficulty was being next door to a cocktail bar which was never mentioned in any of your advertising or listings regarding Low Tide. The noise every night was horrendous it went on until 2am or 4am every night, bar Sunday, which was the only night we slept. I really feel this should be mentioned in your advertising perfect for a hen or stag party, but not for a longawaited family holiday with grandparents and very young children. I would be interested to know what your response to my complaints may be.
We did not want to come back from this place. Property is so clean positive well located comfortable and had everything you can think of. We will visit this place soon again. Thank you vandana
The house, and general experience was of high quality, as expected. All of my party enjoyed a wonderful stay in Weymouth, the location was in the heart of where we wanted to be, there was a trade off with back ground noise against being close to the beach, shops and entertainment. But this did not take anything away from our holiday.
Nicholas
Lovely big house. Very clean. It is noisy at night but it didnt spoil our week. It quietens down around 3am so you still get some uninterrupted sleep every night. The location is perfect. The cocktail bar next door does take away which is really good and ideal for sitting in our one of the bay windows people watching. M&S is about 25 metres away so you can just decide what you want to eat each day and walk next door to get it. We found that a much more flexible way to eat with the kids. Highly recommended
Richard
Wrote a complaint to you on 1508 No response . Nightclub next door open till 5 am , drunk people outside cottage smoking and being loud up to 6 am Queuing for club against railings of house smoking . Could not have windows open because of noise and no air con or fans , in the heat wave of 714th august
This house is amazing, it has been decorated beautifully, it has everything you could ever need on holiday and it's on the seafront. Such a shame it is 2 doors away from a night club that played music until 5 am in the morning both nights we were there Friday and Saturday. We were a family of 20 so hired both houses, High Tide and Low Tide and unfortunately everyone sleeping at the front of both houses were disturbed all night by the music and people coming and going from the nightclub.
