Kenfig Farm Reviews

Have to say this was a lovely find. Great value for money. Well provided. many places don't have salt & pepper for use. If you like rustic style cottages in a quiet location this is it. Secure garden area with plenty of local walks for dogs. The cottage was safe, warm and the owner friendly and accessible if needed. They provided an interesting history of the locality and cottage. Overall despite the weather, it is March, We had a lovely stay and will definitely book again next time we visit Wales. My wife is already planning next year!
Andrew
This was our third time at Kenfig farm and we have booked for November, one of the best equipped properties we have stayed at,overlooking Kenfig pool and Nature reserve yet close to Porthcawl,Bridgend and just off the M4,no parking issues,a lovely private property that ticks all boxes for us.
Lovely quiet rural location just a few minutes from the M4 motorway. Plenty of space in and around the house and it fitted our needs perfectly. Good dogs walks very close by. Would definitely recommend.
Rachael
Great cottage in a fabulous location for Kenfig Nature Reserve. The cottage is well stocked with basic essentials like washing up liquid, tea, coffee and condiments. Lovely safe space outside for dogskids to run and two pubs within walking distance for lunchdinner if you didnt want to drive. There is lots of information about the area and places to visit plus maps and even binoculars in case you want to explore the area locally. The only small comment would be that the downstairs toiletshower has no heating so it is very cold however there is a bathroom upstairs with heating and a bath tub you can use instead. Neville the owner is lovely and very helpful with information and helped us get some logs for the wood burner when the cleaner forgot to leave some. I would highly recommend Kenfig Farm and would definitely stay again.

It would help if the white stones at the entrance were more visible, and it would be useful to include this in the arrival details.
Great communication from the owner, Neville. And many thanks for the Welsh cakes left for us. The property was exactly as described. It's really spacious, and we liked the colourfully decorated bedrooms very pretty. It's nice to be so close to Kenfig nature reserve. We had some lovely walks even though the ground is still very water logged from recent heavy rain. Thoroughly recommend this property for a quiet break
I am sorry that we have not been able to leave a more positive review, but we wanted to leave an honest review based on our experience. We knew Kenfig Farm was an old property but for us, it fell significantly short of what you expect from a holiday let. The kitchen felt grubby and the oven and grill were noticeably unclean and greasy. There was no extractor fan in the downstairs shower so the window had to be partially open at all times. As you can imagine, being December this meant the room was freezing, and there was a permanent draught. The shower also lacked power and a few times the water ran cold during our stay. Although the heating was on twice a day, we had significant difficulties heating the property, this was despite us buying logs and using the fire. The upstairs of the house was extremely cold at night. On a positive note, the location of the property was very good. It was quiet with some great walks from your doorstep and a good pub.
Andrew
This was our second visit to Kenfig Farm,as on our first visit in March this year,we found it to be spotlessly clean and very well equipped,a real home from home in a very good position overlooking Kenfig nature reserve and Kenfig pool, ideal for visiting the local area. We are planning on visiting again next spring.
Crispin
A great location and a super property. An interesting mix of a rustic farmhouse and modern fixtures. We'd definitely go back again if we wanted a long weekend in Pyle. Thank you a super weekend made by this super property
We had a very comfortable week at Kenfig Farm, well appointed for visiting the Glamorgan Heritage Coastline. The bed was comfy, a good level of cosiness was possible and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our dog had a good amount of garden to walk around on a lead. We would love to return to Kenfig Farm one day.
Jacqueline
Lovely old house fully equiped, great views all round, plenty to do in the area, would happily go back
Charlotte
Lovely area but unfortunately there were some issues. Terrible smell in the living room on arrival, not sure how it was missed by the cleaners, had to buy cleaning products and clean by the carpet and sofa on our first day before we could use it. We did inform the owner but no apology just told that is was frustrating. The local farmer needs to come through the garden to access the land unfortunately the gate post to the road was knocked down one day he was coming through which meant the gate did not close securely so we could not let our dog run free in the lovely, large garden. On one day we decided to stay in and enjoy the house and garden the farmer came through the garden in his tractor and then gardeners came to cut all the grass. This wouldnt have been a problem had we known to expect them as we would have gone out but it meant we could not use the garden and there was a lot of noise. The downstairs toilet felt grubby and there was less than half a roll of toilet roll in there when we arrived. There was also many old leftover jars of coffee that had gone off and old tea bags and food in cupboards and leftover medication in the fridge from presumably a previous guest. The house is beautiful and in a great area but we just felt it fell short and needs to be throughly cleaned if dogs are staying.
Arline
Extremely clean and comfortable apart from the single beds which were found to be too soft. Other than that the cottage was lovely and clean and the owner very friendly and welcoming. The Welsh cakes and fresh milk was an extremely nice gesture and very very nice. Would recommend this lovely cottage to anybody going on holiday to South Wales.
Clarissa Joan
Comfortable, wellequipped cottage located in a lovely part of South Wales. Great that could have a dog too. Good price. Easy to find location with good facilities nearby.. SMART TV, reliable WiFi and board games great for rainy days.Liked the local walk sheets provided. Lovely to overlook Kenfig nature reserve.

Recently returned from a week's stay at Kenfig Farm, acommodation was spotlessly clean, location perfect overlooking Kenfig pool and nature reserve, close by for Porthcawl,Bridgend Maesteg and Aberafan beach. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen, home from home. We plan on returning in the autumn.
We had a brilliant time at kenfig farm. The property is absolutely lovely. Neville is a great host and provides everything you need for a fast and secure check in. Plenty to do around the area. An alpaca experience is 2 minutes away and so is the pub so that was a bonus! Kenfig pool and nature reserve and the beautiful sunset across the road were also an added bonus. Highly recommend, me and the kids loved it and will be booking again in the future.
Alison
Kenfig Farm exceeded our expectations, so comfortable and relaxing, all the rooms were lovely. The large front porch was perfect for coats and boots after walks from the front door over to the nature reserve and the sea. The Prince of Wales pub a very short stroll away was very friendly with great food. The cottage location, an easy short distance from the M4 overlooking sand dunes, a short drive to Porthcawl for ice cream, was perfect.
Had our second stay here and it was great again. Very comfortable beds, and we were nice and cosy being able to put the heating on whenever necessary. Everything we needed in the kitchen for a short stay. Lovely walks over the sand dunes at Kenfig Pool, and beach walks at Porthcawl.
Barbara

What a lovely place is Kenfig is. The farmhouse was very clean and all you needed. Just myself and my dog went and he loved the garden. Wish we could have stayed longer. The beaches are so wonderful. The log burner at night. Next time I will bring my family

Another great stay at lovely kenfig farm. ! Cosy and welcoming as soon as you walk in, a peaceful calm area with great access for exploring or just enjoy the lovely Glamorgan area. Nature reserve and Sker beach are beautiful unspoilt areas and great for your four legged friends. Good communication from Neville as always and thankyou for a wonderful stay x
We had a wonderful stay at Kenfig Farm. Neville was very helpful on the phone with directions. The farm itself is perfect with everything you could need. Plenty of instructions so that working out the heating, oven etc was easy! Comfortable beds, nice facilities and plenty of crockeryglasses and space. Thank you for a great stay and we will book again I'm sure.
This is an amazing house for our holiday. Neville called few days before our stay with some directions and, instructions which was great. The house itself was really good. Very pleased with the condition of the house when we arrived. Plenty of tea, coffee and sugar on arrival. Welsh cakes and milk was a bonus. The pub is only a 510 minute walk and the food is amazing. We recommend you book a table tho. Really enjoyed our stay and plenty of walks around. 10 minutes drive to porthcawl.
Very nice holiday home, close to the beach. We had a great week in this cottage. We were welcomed with some welsh cakes. Ideal if you love beaches and walking. Pub next door with good food! Love to come here again.
Nice place and Neville was very helpful. We had a good break. Ideal location and would book again.
Lovely quiet cottage. Big garden that the dog loved and the nature reserve opposite. Good base for exploring Brecon Beacons.
Sharon
Just back from an amazing mini holiday at kenfig farm. Felt so at home as soon as we walked in the door it's a lovely old characterful house perfectly situated right opposite kenfig pool and nature reserve. Very well equipped milk and cakes much appreciated after long journey plenty of tea coffees available and a range of spices. Lovely garden to sit and listen to the birds fantastic walks from the door and great base to get out and about from. Neville was great with communications and helpful advice. Would definitely come here again what a gem of a property thankyou for a lovely holiday Neville and family xx
Great stay in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed our stay at Kenfig Farm, and the weather was great all sunshine and no rain. There is lots of space inside, with a wellstocked kitchen, log burner, comfy beds, and a fabulous bath. The location is stunning, and the property has fantastic views over Kenfig pool, the dunes and sea. The house is set back from the road, not overlooked, and has a nice garden with picnic tables. Its also wonderful to watch and hear all the birds including the noisy and delightful nesting sparrows! The owners are friendly and helpful and have left lots of information for guests, as well as books, maps, leaflets and details of the history of the village and farm. We also had milk in the fridge and some yummy Welsh cakes left for us on arrival, which was a nice extra thank you! There are amazing walks on the doorstep, and the golden sand beaches here are stunning. There are lots more beaches and walks within a short drive too. The Prince of Wales pub is just a minutes walk away and the Sunday roast there is highly recommended! We also enjoyed a nice meal at the nearby Angel Inn. If youre looking for a peaceful, relaxing break, close to the sea and nature, Kenfig Farm ticks the boxes.
Barbara

Kenfig farm is in a lovely location very near to Kenfig nature reserve which can be seen from the window so you can see the birds coming and going. pubs are in easy walking distance and both serve excellent food but the Prince of Wales does get very busy. Kenfig Farm itself is very comfortable ,good kitchen, large lounge and very comfortable beds. we did have a few issues but when reported to the owner Neville they were resolved . We will have no hesitation in booking for next year. Our friends who joined from New jersey USA enjoyed their stay at Kenfig farm
Very well located cottage a few moments walk from the dunes and a good pub. Perfect for dog owners. Well equipped and comfortable base for a week away.
