Gone Fishing Reviews

Judith
Everything was spotlessly clean and so well catered. There was nothing we needed that wasnt provided. We were a family of 5 adults and 3 children and all found it very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and rooms spacious.

This was our second stay at this property and once again everything was great. My only slight criticism is the main bed isn't very comfortable, it feels like the mattress slopes to one side. But in general this property has everything you need, it's very spacious and has two parking spaces. It's a short walk to the harbour, it's at the top of a hill so the walk back could be challenging.

Very nice property, clean, good location, the only issue we had regarding the parking at the rear of gone fishing ,it transpires that only one very small parking bay for gone fishing at the rear . the young lady at no 88 informed me that was there space and we had to vacate and only used that bay once the rest of the time it was left empty . but overall a very nice stay at gone fishing
A lovely property with plenty of room for the 8 of us as we have been here before. Some of the settees and mattresses could do with an upgrade and we found that not all bedding as protecters on. The insides of the radiators need a desperate clean as this prevents them from working efficiently as there is no tumble dryer to dry clothes. Would stay again with easy access to the town and beach with plenty of places to eat to suit all pockets.

The property was as described I Would be happy to recommend Dream Cottages to friends and family. Regards M G Swiss

A fantastic week in a lovely home. The property is ideally situated and only a short stroll down to the harbour. We enjoyed it so much that we've already booked for next year!
Andrew
Fabulous property that we've stayed at many times before. Went for golf week with some friends and loved the cleanliness, convenience and comfort of the property. Would be wonderful for families and just a few minutes walk to the centre of Weymouth. Great base for any kind of holiday.
Fantastic house with all the amenities, in a great location within easy reach of the beach and Forte. Would highly recommend.

4th time we have stayed at Gone Fishing great place would say the sofas are showing their age and losing their comfort. Only improvement, can you move it to the bottom of the hill please
The house was big enough and very comfortable. Except for the matrass in one bedroom. We complained and the problem was soon resolved. However, I feel that such a matrass should never have been put there in the first place. The house could have been cleaner.
Great location and a lovely sized house, we would definitely come back and stay here! The house is spacious and kitchen is full equipped & the pool table is a great addition! The only small negative comments we can make was that the small wheelie bin was half full still on arrival, so with 7 of us staying in the property it didnt take long for the bin to then become full and bags were having to be left on the floor beside it. We like to use our own bed linen so when stripping the beds we noticed a few pillows were stained with blood etc so therefore I suggest these are replaced.

The internet is terrible and my autistic son was not happy as he uses his laptop to clam himself. It sounds like homeowner is more concerned about people using the internet for work. The smaller double bedroom, the bed is too low. There was black hairs on the floor of downstairs toilet, also the toilet brush was covered in shit and loo paper, disgusting!
Claire
Lovely cottage in an excellent location . Beautiful big bedrooms and very clean. Plenty of kitchen items of all kinds. My only suggestion would be for more wardrobes as it sleeps 8 and a smart television would be great but neither of these made a difference to us having wonderful holiday. Lovely weather was an added bonus.
Ideal for a large family, what is missing is a clothes dryer. There are folding steel wire drying frames provided, but inadequate in inclement weather. The one feature that lets down the whole property is inadequate drying facilities.

In the information pack inside the house it said there was a tumble dryer at the property but there wasnt and the property could do with having a washing line outside, there were plenty of pegs and two airers but a line would have been handy
Darren
Great house in excellent location to Weymouth Harbour. Had a few questions to ask before visit that were swiftly answered. Highly recommend
Charlotte
House was lovely and spacious. Bedrooms were a good size and kitchen was excellent. Parking space outside house was fine as well. Had a fantastic holiday and was our first holiday since covid started.
Accommodation acceptable, but quite utilitarian and basic. Kitchen well equipped but be aware no basic food stuff at all no salt pepper oil for example Lots of road noise in the front bedroom. Takes a long time to heat up. 2nd parking space is not really big enough to be called a parking space!
Nice house close to town and harbour. No issues except 2 bedrooms have no wardrobe for hanging clothes and car parking both at front and rear very tight and requires a lot of manovering, otherwise enjoyed our stay.
Angela
The holiday house was just what we required has a family of 5 adults. The downstairs toilet was excellent for my mum with restricted mobility. The living room and kitchen were of a size to easily accommodate 5 adults. Bedrooms and bathrooms were superb. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet, we slept with the bedroom windows open. We would certainly consider returning to this property and using DreamCottages again.
Elaine
Disappointed this year has we have been coming with your self and Dream cottages for meany years
Andrea
The parking around the back of the property is not suitable. We parked our car at the front difficult but do able the people we were on holiday with parked around the back and the people living next door reversed into their car new car only had six weeks. The space around the back requires sorting out

We enjoyed our stay at the house, very clean and tidy, short walk to harbour and places to eat. the rooms were a good size. The car parking at rear of the house is tight, we would suggest the over hanging tree is cut back, to avoid making contact with the car roof. Just a few minor comments re waste, the bin outside is a good size but with no green bin for bottles cans etc, the bin was full by Thursday, I believe either a green bin should be supplied or a further bin.
We all had a great holiday, the house is very spacious and very comfortable, with plenty of seating for us all, beds very comfortable as well, we loved the games room. If Im being nit picky we could have done with a tumble dryer a 10 month old baby makes a lot of washing which isnt always easy to get dry. Very handy for centre of weymouth and all that weymouth has to offer for all ages. Great holiday thanks
Kirsty
